Three Partitions by Bogi Takács
Three Partitions is also in Bogi Takács' anthology The Trans Space Octopus Congregation
I personally really love stories about communities who have left Earth and are adapting their community life to a new environment, and this is really a highlight of that extremely specific niche. In Three Partitions, an Jewish Orthodox community have emigrated to an unnamed planet, and then must incorporate the planet's symbiotic lifeforms into their own community life. I really loved the characters and the pacing. It has a hopeful but slightly unsettling ending, which I also really enjoyed.
The story has content warnings for transphobia, body mutilation (both deliberately and accidentally), and, in the author's own words, "potentially upsetting space magic".
